I have a communal of 2" Pokies, 5 pedersenis and 2 fasciatas. All came in individual vials and I just dumped them together in a 5 gall standing on one end. Over the months, I noticed that one or two of the spiders preferred to live in isolation at the bottom of the tank while the rest cuddled together at the top of the highest branch. I assumed that the bottom ones were the fasciatas and it would be normal that they have different preferences...
As colors appeared, I could properly identify my specimens and I found out that my solitaires were almost always pedersenis, meaning that the fasciatas were having a hug o thon with the rest of the bunch. I mean, they are piled together like a litter of kittens. Sometimes, any one of the bunch will go to replace the solitaire at the bottom, which immediately comes up to join its mate.
Funny!!! I wish I had a camera that works properly!
