Multiple hides

Since redoing my A.avic enclosure and including more than one naturalistic hide, he/she has seemed to swap between two choice locations on an almost daily basis. Has anyone else experienced this? Any conclusions or educated guess as to why?

Also, my OBT today decided that it no longer liked the expansive web den it has made and added to since I brought it home a couple weeks back, and today went to the top and made an arboreal style tube web in a corner to hang out in! This I'm guessing is possibly a premolt behavior, or do they swap out and make a new hide regularly?

My OBT switches back and forth quite frequently. It made a deep burrow to molt in, but I dont know if it will do that next time.

I made two for mine based on ones he'd made before but he decided to make a third. He's webbed over the entrance to one of the first two and only gone in the other one once or twice. I'm getting a better idea of what it prefers so the next time I redo his setup I'll make him a palace.
