Hi everyone,

I’m new to the T scene, but I’ve hopelessly fallen in love with them. However I currently live in Tennessee, and I plan to move to Wisconsin in a few years. This isn’t a car ride trip, and I personally planned to take a plane or a train. But how would I safely relocate my tarantulas ? I see many posts regarding how to make them safe in car rides, but would they be safe in plane rides? I wouldn’t mind buying them a seat either.
Thanks for any advice

Edit: I’m also heavily considering shipping, I’ll take any advice there too.

As far as I know you can't book tarantula on a plain like other pets.
I think shipping is expensive too and I am not sure about shipping across state lines you would also have to look into that. I think that's why most hire a truck and drive them because its cheaper and easier then trying to ship a collection.

I know when a lobster fisherman I watch tried to take a lobster on a plain with him he was reading airline rules and I think you have to get permission to take anything unusual like a lobster or I imagine a t, and each airline had different rules. Your best bet is to get intouch with the different airlines and see what they say. If they say no look into shipping, if that's a no then a truck is your only option 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Another possible option that I just thought of is an pet currier. Idk if you have them there but here in the uk we have companies that specialise in moving animals, again they aren't cheap but may be a possibility if they have them there.

At least you have a year or 2 to try and sort it out. I have everything crossed you can 🤞😊. Good luck 😊

Unless you have some extremely rare species, not worth the hassle but if you only have a hand full then it should be more manageable.

Fedex Overnight Shipping is an option to look into. :geek:
Used by many Online Exotic Pet Dealers in the U.S.

You can ship by plane because that’s how most slings get here from Europe. Never asked how they do it
