Mothering Habits?

Hi, I found this spider crawling around our babysitter's patio last night, I noticed she carries her eggsac but is it mothering habits or could it just be stuck to her silk? I tried removing it but she got really defensive and held tight onto her eggsac - the slings seem to be ready to hatch so I wonder if the slings will make a meal out of the mother??? Anyone ever seen such a spider?

Rev, you got good answers on ST, I think. Check it out already. It's a (type of) wolf spider. Don't remove the eggsac. When the slings hatch, they will ride on her for a while. Bother mom and eggsac/slings not!

BTW, we get those over here all the time. So many underfoot when walking, it's amazing they don't get crushed all the time....

Elizabeth is correct. She will carry the young until they molt, then they will zip right out of those holes in that container you have them in
