Most Deadly Spider in the World.....

A co-worker told me about a story he heard on the news over the weekend. Supposedly, there was in incident in England that several people were bitten by what they called "the most poisonous spider in the world." He said they called it a Brizilian Wandering Spider. I can't find reference to this story on CNN.com or MSNBC.com, so I was wondering if anyone else heard about this story.
I know to trust little to nothing of what the news media says, especially about spiders (or anything else for that matter). I was just curious to hear the rest of their "story."

Hmmm, the Brazilian Wandering spider (Phoneutria fera)? They are pretty venomous and sometimes come in shipments of bananas. I believe they are also called the Banana spider, not the North American one (ugg, common names). Correct me if I am wrong.

I always thought the Sydney Funnel Web (Atrax robustus) was the most "deadly" with the Red Back widow (Latrodectus hasselti) in a close second (not THAT deadly).

Yes, i live in England myself. One of the people who got bit by the Brazilian Wandering Spider was a hospital worker. I heard they had to ivacuate a ward of the hospital where it was in.
