So today while at a show, I picked up a flying gecko and a marbled gecko. The flying gecko (Draco) ha some shed stuck on his foot. I know how it can affect them so I decided I would quickly remove it. I filled a deli half way with warm wet paper towels and tried to get him in it for a nice warm soak. After a minute of flying gecko jumping and running I cornered him into a spare deli I had. "If you won't get in then I will just have to do it the hard way" I thought. So I wet a q tip with warm water and touched it gently onto his affected leg. Instead of storming off, he just sat there patiently. After a quick 5 minute soak, I gently worked it free. When I would status check it, his eyes would follow me. I think (can't prove) that he knew what I was doing. It was amazing to me. Just had to share

That is wonderful. I think that a lot of animals may be more intelligent than most people take them to be. Even if he was scared, he probably knew that you were helping him. I love it.

Absolutely! Draco has been spending his time blending into this tree decoration I have in with him and he is GREAT at it. Hoping to try hand taming him. I've heard its possible so a little after he settles in I'm going to give it a shot. I'm also planing on trying it with my marbled gecko as well.

Yeah! Im thinking of getting another crested when they are "in season". I haven't thought about geckos the same since my baby crestie died of I don't know what. It could have been my fault and thats why I didn't get any new ones but I've changed so much I think I may be ready to try again.

My brother had two. One was named draco. I think while its all fun and smiles to say he knew what you were doing, odds are he was just too scared to run off/was cornered. But if you're like me, You'll always tell yourself he knew ;)

My snake did something similar a few days ago. Had a real bad shed, so I soaked him and was working the shed off with a washrag. Got about 1/4 of the shed off, and suddenly the snake came alive; started flying through the washcloth and coiling itself with a single minded determination to help me get the rest of the shed off. He even let me touch his face to get the nose area cleaned off…and previously he wouldn't let me near his head due to the shed stuck there. My folks are convinced he figured out what was going on, and once he realized we were helping him he worked with us in this regard.

Off color albeit

The title of this thread... It's... a little bit... wrong. It's along the same lines as the old coffee commercial where Joe DiMaggio announced to the world 'It's the best I've ever had'. Quite an accolade for a cup of coffee coming from a guy who was married to Marilyn Monroe.

To be honest so far in my years in the hobby this ranks really high up there. Why would you compare my experience to an old coffee commercial?

No offense meant. It is just that your words are the most amazing experience I've ever had, implied, of your entire life. There is a whole heck of a lot of competition for that spot, isn't there? As DiMaggio's competition for the BEST he has ever had.
But now you have qualified the statement with 'years in the hobby'. I can relax. DiMaggio's exact words were unqualified as 'The best (of anything) I've ever tasted'. WOW! Some amazingly good coffee compared to the competition.
