looking for a bit of advice here on morio worms!

I will give these to my scorpion as an occasional treat. In looking up morio worms it appears that their natural habitat is rainforests in south and Central America. I had a thought that it might be an idea to put them into the tank with the scorpion since they are completely harmless and it’ll give them more of a decent living!

Just wondering if this could be risky for her when they turn into darkling beetles if she were to be in molt! There is already a couple of them scuttling around the tank which were put in as larvae.

any advice appreciated on this!

Morio worms could definitely be a problem post molt. They don't pass on an easy source of protein. Not a good idea.

I had to look this up, sounds like a superworm. They will eat your scorpion when it stops moving long enough, like when it molts.

Like others have mentioned, you run the risk of the morio worms being a problem when your scorp is molting, not only that, but you also run the risk of the worms digging themselves down, metamorphism happens, you now have beetles appearing that are not only less nutritious, but also capable of harming your scorp, primarily during molting. Personally I'd just keep them all together in a tub, this generally prevents metamorphism as they usually require solitude to pupate.
