Dunno if I'm in the wrong place but... I LOVE zoophobas morio!
I love breeding them, I love looking at them, I love keeping them, I love how they smell. Right you have the idea. So much so I had to make a doodle of one.

But the most important point of this thread is - is anyone as crazy about these GORGEOUS little blighters as me? :D

their larvae are pretty big. I just started breeding them and they are not as hard as some people say they are. They might even do better than my mealworm colony. i heard that people eat them raw, i am thinking about trying some. have anyone tried done it?

They are really tasty! :D I actually find morio are easier than tenibrio XD I've never tried one raw but I occassionally cook my mealies.

Oh forgot to mention - the above pic was drawn from memory! That's why it was special! :D

(forgive the qality I have no photoshop or flash after my pc got formatted as I lost the disks and so it's all on paint)

Well now... ;) this is what I'm good at!

Take some rice and boil it first, then leave it for a day or so.
Prepare it to fry the next day. Chop some vegetables up and boil them or prepare them whatever way you see fit - whatever you like cuz it's a stir fry - my personal favourate being broccoli, those little bits of corn that are so small they are bendy when little whatever they are, aubagine slices (however it's spelt), green beans, bits of diced potato, poached egg or ready cooked chicken, whatever go crazy! Sometimes I just get a pack of Tesco mixed vegetables and fire them in too.

I give the mealworms a light cook first, in a pan with butter, just toss them over for a little bit just to start the process.

When they have got a little cooking I fire everything into a wok and give it a couple of minutes to turn golden brown in places and let the rice really become so very yummy as it does when friend. *is drooling now* I sprinkle some oregano in there while I fry it - I love that taste!

Oh and olives. Please don't forget the black olives! I LOVE olives and chop 'em up all small and put over the finished dish. If your like me you'll dig out the mealworms and eat them first cuz you can't wait ;) How about this - I have to go to the petshop tomorrow I'll get some fresh mealies and cook them while taking photographs for you folks. If I can I will allrighty? Then I can show you how utterly mouth watering the finished dish is.... mmmhmm

gonna totally copyright that - Choobaine's mealie love dish!

Hey, that doesn't sound bad at all:drool: , but it does sound like too much butter. do you have to cook them in butter? how about something else? like coconut milk, coconut juice, or can i just fried them?
anyway, i am looking forward to those pictures, if you can get them.
thanks for the info and
by the way, what are the chances that i can get you to cook for me sometime? ;) :D

Well, I don't know if I will be going anywhere sometime soon. On the other hand, if you ever come over here, then i can definitely take you out for sushi. we can come back to my place and i'll let you play with my bugs, and afterward, you are going to have to let me play with you (i meant video games!:D WHAT ARE YOU THINKING?!?!:wall:).
