I just received, in my opinion, a 4 month old hatchling of the most beautiful python species to ever live on this planet. Jungle Carpet Python.

My question. Will the marking shapes change over time or do they stay the same? She has a perfect skull&crossbones marking on top of her head and I'm really hoping she keeps it her entire life. Thank youu!

Gorgeous! And no, shouldn't change - too much. It will grow with her, may misshapen a BIT, and some scales may turn different colors. But overall, it'll be the same!

And, as the lil gal grows, the colors will compensate for any slight changes :)

Here's a better view of her marking. It also looks likes there's a sword or dagger going through the top of the skull.

Phew! That's such a relief :) I was looking at pictures of adult JCPs on google and was really hoping mine would have that marking. I can't wait till her high yellow comes in :D

Don't you love finding markings like that on your animals? It's like a game, I find something new every time and I've had my snakes for years haha. She is gorgeous though, would make some nice babies ;)

It's like interpreting the inkblot photos psychologists use {D I plan on breeding her in the future but that'll be a while from now, seeing as she's thinner than my pinky :p

I have one more thing to ask, so rather than starting another thread, I'll post it here. At 4 months old, and at the color she's at now, does it look like her yellow will be bright when she's mature? Supposedly, her parents were both high yellows.
