Here's a few more pics of some of my snakes.
First up, a juvie hypomelanistic Midland Water Snake(Nerodia sipedon pleuralis). I'm planning to breed this guy to my big hypo female when he's old enough. I can't say enough good things about Nerodia; they're just great snakes-messy snakes at times, but great nontheless.
Next, a juvie Redbelly Water Snake(Nerodia erythrogaster) I caught this weekend. This little guy has some bad scarring, and a lot of missing scales on his back, but hopefully he's young enough to make a full recovery. He's certainly got an appetite! He readily takes pinkie mice from my fingers.
This is my male Australian Water Python(Liasis fuscus), who is about eight feet long now. He's a gorgeous snake, but very "bi-polar", lol!
Here's a view showing his yellow belly:
My little male Colombian Boa(Boa constrictor imperator)-I don't know what "morph" he is, but he's definitely aberrant!
My latest snake acquisition, an adult male dwarf Reticulated Python(Python reticulatus ssp.) that I've had my eye on at a pet shop about an hour and a half from where I live for quite some time. The shop's owner bought out a local snake breeder, and this guy was part of the inventory. He's supposedly a proven male, though he's only about the size of a decent-sized Corn Snake! The shop's owner was afraid of him, claiming he was nasty-tempered, but I have not encountered any problems with him, and I had to "hand-shed" him this afternoon. I think they were mistaking the typical Retic feeding response for aggression.
Here's a closer pic, showing more of his iridescence. Based on his coloration, I believe he's either a "Kayuadi" or "Madu Island" subspecies, both of which are very small island forms of Retic, with brighter coloration than the better-known "Jampea" form.
