Well, as some people on this forum know, last week I lost two of my inverts; one to old age and another to crickets of all things.

Now I add to the list of casualties, my MM Brachypelma albopilosum, Slash. I got him just before he matured, almost three years ago now. Poor guy has been suffering the diskinetic syndrome for the past week and finally curled up today, giving his final movement just a moment ago. So sad, it was almost like a wave goodbye =~(

This has really been a rough two weeks and I don't know if it's because I've had him for three years or because I watched him go downhill, but this single incident is really eating me up. I feel so bad, and I'm really gonna miss him.

Goodnight Slash..... I miss you buddy.

Thanks man... I'm taking alot of comfort in the fact that two of my losses at least were natural. Still rough though, thanks again for the support.

So sorry to hear about your loss. They all touch us in their own unique way, the individuals that they are. I just lost Baby, my H minax to old age too and I miss her as well, so I know how you feel. Very touching to hear about your's last movement. I'm sure he was saying good-by to his friend, as you said.

I'm equally sorry to hear about yours too. You're absoloutely right, they really do have a lasting effect and impression on us. The things they do, or the way they do things.... mine used to try and climb the side of the taks and fall most of the time lol. So cute :}

I guess the key is to just remember the good times and let them carry us forward. Of course that in itself has a tendancy to make one sad all over again. Good luck with everything DD, and thanks for the message. =)

Sorry

Most people wouldn't understand. They would say "It's just a spider". But when you feed them, water them, talk to them, watch them grow and mature, they become part of your family. It's natural to be upset when you lose a family member. But remember that it does get easier over time and everyone here on AB understands and is here for support.
