Those jumping type spiders? i have bunch of them on my backyard but hard to spot, that second picture looks like he's eyeing you and bout to attack :razz: other hand it bends in its surroundings.

Does the abdomen ever fatten up and look more round, or is it always pointy like that? And that pattern on it's carapace/head is pretty wild. Is the spider trying to mimic something? I can't decide if it is supposed to look a bit like bird poop, or like a creature (eyespots in the pattern on the carapace)? But it kind of looks like mimicry somehow... Very interesting looking spider!


(Actually, are those pattern eyespots actual eyes, the spots farthest back on the wild carapace design and out at the edges of it?)

Killer pics Steve! Looks like it's imitating a leaf bud to me. For some reason I would have thought the largest Austrailian Salticid would be bigger. ;)

I love watching salticid hunt! When they pounce in slow motion is very cool

forgot to say! these salticid are quite common in australia and can be the size of your thumb nail... unless you have freaky elephant sized hands like my uncle lol :)
