Hello guys, I have 4 Balfouri since almost 1 and half year, they were sling when I first got them...

I recently rehouse them from an old to a newer enclosure...

I have noticed that one of them is pretty " slim " , compared to the others friend told me it should be a male and I should keep separated from the other 3 female...

I would like to get your more experience help on what should I do or you recommend...

I have thrown few morio worm but didn't seem to get interested from the slimmer of them, the others ate without any problems :)

Thank you...

I'll attach some pics... PXL_20240807_080458517.jpg PXL_20240807_080726464.jpg PXL_20240807_080439657.jpg PXL_20240807_080328436.jpg

If you get a clear oic of his pedipalps and first legs, we can tell if he is mature. There was a thread on Balfouri communals not too long ago in here and they had said mature males needed to be removed from the group. I have never had this species myself, but if you search the forum for that thread, there is tons of info there.

What are you asking?
I am basically asking if I should remove the male from the COMMUNAL enclosure or is it ok to keep him in there? ... Apparently there are 3 female and 1 male...

I was thinking that when mixed inside communal they will just breed naturally bythemself but Is not this the case as I am understanding ....

Regardless of any opinions on ethics and etc. If indeed you have a male with 3 females, what do you actually have planned to do with spiderlings from 3 eggsacs hehe? Even though spiders are generally easy to care for, a butt load of babies to feed, water rehouse etc might be too much for many hobbyists.

Communals can be done but will not be recommended on AB by many members.

Communals if one so desires and cannot be deterred from doing it should only be attempted by a very experienced keeper.

If you don't know what to visually look for on a MM or a molt then you shouldn't have attempted a communal.

To each their own though. The only advice I'll give is to separate each of them to their own enclosures.

Your T's may be just fine in a communal but why chance it.

I'm not trying to be mean I'm just concerned for all the T's wellbeing.
