I saw gobs of these gorgeous birds at Chichen Itza in Yucatan, Mexico. Thought I'd share a couple pics of one with yall... check out that tail! :)

I have read that motmot birds actually break of the filliments of their tail feathers to achive that shape.

Able to confirm that one? The first part of the tail doesn't really look like what I'd expect unless they are able to use their beaks to trim rather than just remove parts of the feathers.

That's really pretty! What was it holding in its beak?
