Well our Emp's babies are climbing up and down her legs and snitching pieces of meal worm she doesn't finish. We have kept her Very well fed and she doesn't seem to be worried by the babies snitching tidbits.
It's been a little over two weeks since she had them.
When is the best time to make the seperation?
They climb right back up on her after they explore a bit and grab a snack.

Well, don't take my word for granted. But, from what I have read, it seems to me that it's better to wait until the babies spend a lot more time off the mother's back. Basically, right when they're almost completely independent or close to it. Maybe someone else can give you a little more insight.

Thanks Bry.
I've been playing it by ear. I keep momma well fed so her little ones don't start looking tastey.
They went from pale pale white to a fawny brown creamy white and all of them are up on their legs and holding their tails up. They climb on her like a bunch of little kids at a playground jungle gym.
They run in and out of the hide around her. Snag pieces of worm and seem to be doing well.
Some are more brazen about exploring outside the hide more then others. Venturing a few inches further out before runing back under momma.
It's very very cute......
This picture was taken a week ago. Sorry for the quality but I took it through glass and didn't want to disturb her for better shots.

Thanks Gillian. :)

The twins are so proud!

The babies are now pale gold colored and all look like they've molted. They drag meal worms off under momma to eat them.

I removed mine 2 days after 1st moult. They are all doing very well and i`m offering all kinds of hiding spots. They aren`t much for killin crickets them selves yet but love scavenging.I have a count of thirteen after she finished stressing out when i relocated her away from the two big males in her tank. She went hapilly back to her old burrow and was mating about an hour after with the big male.

I `ve heard that they will be just fine with the mother there whole lives. But its the other non related tank members that made me seperate them. They are all running around in a 5 gal.
