My first slings molts :)

By the way, I put them in a cd case, is this a good idea or there is a better way?

Good idea, but I must say, unless you keep total recorda of everything, it gets manotonous saving them, I must have over 400 sheds laying around here in various containers.

I just throw them out myself. They become increasingly brittle over the years so unless you completely immobilize them in something akin to an insect pinning box, they just get more and more damaged until you have a box full of tarantula bits and dust.

I used to keep all of them myself; I thought of them as "baby pictures". Then came the fateful day when I was cleaning up my room to leave for college and made the choice to pitch my box of T bits and pieces and haven't kept one permanently since.

We'll see if you're still keeping them in 10 years :D

Looks nice. It may not last long though.
I keep a book for all of my molts, kind of a T diary.
Every detail including purchase date and who I bought it from.
I only have 12 T's, so its not too much work.
The only molt I kept was my Pintoe (A. avic) Its in a large pill
bottle. It almost looks like a live T:eek:

I like the idea of the molt diary, until now I was keeping the information in a paper, the basic, puchase month and year, molt month and year, temperament, habits...

After the "baby picture" explanation I think in 10 years I will have the molts :) :)

I did keep all my spiderling molts, but gave it up after a time... I do still keep the molts from my adults, but have many smallish flat boxes coming in often that are good to keep them in without getting accidentally squashed. I've even managed to retrieve a few molts while very fresh and restored them to looking like a living T, well unless you happen to notice the tiny bit of cotton coming from the abdomen. I was hoping to get some of that acrylic resin and make a paperweight or 2 with those and not having to go to the trouble of preserving a dead spider later on.

I also see that in the future I'm very likely to give up keeping them in the small boxes do to space limitations... That nook could be used to house a live eating mini-beast of some sort :D

I also used to keep all of my molts, but now I throw them away also. The only one I've kept recently is my parahybana shed when she was 8.5", it's impressive looking.
