OK, so I get up this morning, and my big male B. smithi is on his back! Right in the middle of the tank, what a photo op. I am now at work. :wall: Is it bad form to leave work because your tarantula is molting? Is this covered in any HR policies? I've searched the web for HR policies regarding Tarantula molting protocols, did I find anything? No. (j/k) It is making me nuts. He has been pre-molt for um, months and I've been waiting, and waiting, and waiting . . . I think I'm getting sick, "cough, cough" and might have to go home. Maybe I can get a Dr's note, "Tony is excused from work today due to the undue stress of not being able to witness a molt." I'm gonna give it a shot.

Haha lol. I actually did call in sick once, when I lost a sling in my room. I had to find it, so I couldn't go to work. Did find the sling eventually:p.

I had to spend the night at my mom's house not long ago because I bought some Ts on the way up and as I was about to leave, one of them had popped its top, so I had to let her finish molting so as not to injur her during the drive home. Then when I got home the next day and placed the Ts on my T-shelf, another one began the molting process.

found the policy!

So, I'm walking down the hallway, and I see one of our HR managers and he asks me how the spiders are, so I tell him that one's molting and ask him about whether leaving for the event is covered, thinking he'll just laugh at me. He doesn't even miss a beat and says, "Yeah, sure, it's covered under FMLA, the Family Molting Leave Act". ha ha.
