This is his second molt with me, and both times he did the same thing. He soaked his bod, and then he constructed a molt mat over the water, and then...

Soaking my toes

Spa diving

Enjoy

All done. I really think this guy enjoyed the Spa treatment!!!

Snafu, I truley believe that many T's need additional humidity/moisture inorder to have a successful molt, or at least to make it easier on themselves.

I have two P irminias who constructed their mats over (not in) their water dishes and molted there.

I hope everyone at least smiles over these shots.

Yep, I agree on the humidity thing. When my T's flip, I keep misting all around in the enclosure to keep the humidity up. Don't know for sure if it helps, but it can't hurt.
Your pics were great & the T really looked comfortable lounging there!:D

Nice pics. My blondi has been soaking herself in her water dish for about a month or so and tonight I came home to her upside down a little distance off from it.

I guess me misting her cage twice a day wasn't sufficient enough for what she wanted :p

If I feel that a spider is pre-molt, I'll always increase the humidity... Especially with my avics, they seem to molt immediately after the change. They'll web themselves up and refuse to eat for a while, and then as soon as there's a heavy misting of their web, suddenly there's 16 legs in there.
