mole crickets?

Anybody know anything about their care? I just had the idea that maybe it would be cool to watch them burrow and all. I know they eat roots, but that's about all I know.

not to be mean but mole crickets make excellnt critter food....but you gotta decapitate them....i have an infestation of them in my backyard, I feed the ones in catch crickets (how ironic) and veggies. They get big and the can make noises! Very kelw bugs.... :D

thanks for the links and info. yeah I did some searching on my own too and it doesn't seem like too many people are interested in keeping them alive. ;) Oh well, they're pretty cool. I found out that they're partly carnivorous. You think they'd eat small roaches or crickets?

Mine do!!!! i havent tried roaches but they ones i feed my T's occasionally get loaded w/ med. sized crickets and lots of veggies like potatoes, carrots, ect. They can give apretty decent pinch when you grab em though!

Gotta love that search feature :worship:

I was wondering about them as a food source for Ts, I used to give the one I had them, albeit alive and kicking and often wondered if that was a good idea. Truth be known I don't have the heart to kill them myself...they're just so darned cute.

Its fun to feel them using those lil scoop like feet to push against you when they're trying to get out of your hand, strong lil buggers
