Remove any moldy food whenever you see it. They will eat the bits of food that they can reach, between the mold. once the mold has covered the food the crix will have nothing to eat. Maybe try to keep your cric container drier.

Wait a few days, if the mold doesn't kill them they should be OK. The proximity to the mold is what might kill them.

I've had mold in my cricket enclosure and then fed them to my tarantulas with no ill effects. I've even had mold in with some slings before and they were just fine. If it's that white fuzzy looking mold then I don't think it's too big of a deal since it only grows on dead things. There's already a ton of mold spores in the air anyway (how do you think it gets in there in the first place) that land on your T's all the time.

ok. i was afraid the mold might kill the t. the molds grew on the food item i gave the crix. somehow the wet cotton i put made the food item a little bit wet.

Try and refrain from using the cotton as a water source, it's a haven for new cultures. Instead, feed your pinheads with moisture rich vegetables such as lettuce etc.

Lettuce is good, but remember to rinse it well. Farmers use alot of pesticides.

thats what im afraid of. i feed the crix with oat meals, and dog foods. when it comes to hydrating crix i think i'll stick with a water dish with gravels. :)

I use lettuce, just rinse it well. I also use apple and orange slices.

If this a breeding colony you could get some isopods and put them in there to take care of the mold and reduce the chances of it happening again.

I use carrots to feed my feeder insects. I've breed bearded dragons for several years & have raised supers,, mealies, & crickets for as long. Carrots have worked out the best. I also would feed any remaining thick stalky parts of the veggies that I wouldn't give to the dragons.

Much cleaner than dealing with water & crickets,,, trust me.
