What is the best or preferred method for removing mites from a few imported C. gracilis? I noticed that they have a few white/grey mites in between their mesosoma segments. These mites look different than what I am use to seeing on Pandinus and Heterometrus. I use to pick off the mites from the C. vittatus that I've collected, but these guys won't stay still long enough for me to remove the mites.

Will these things spread to different enclosures?

Any ideas?

Thanks,

W. Smith

The preferred method for me, of mite extermination, is as stands, hypoaspis mites.

To prevent the spread of mites from enclosure to enclosure, do not place your hands in one enclosure, then immediately to another. Always wash your hands and forearms after working with any of them and in a manner of highest point to lowest point (elbows first, to hands last, and keep the last part washed lower than the parts that are already clean to prevent the washing of them onto places already cleansed [this is also the method required in the medical field]).

adios,
edw. ;)
