I was checking out the dubia tank tonight and realized there are mites all over on some of the dead roaches. I plan to take out all the live roaches in to large bucket then clean out the whole tank thoroughly and then put them back in with new hides and what not. I dont think the live roaches have any mites from what I have seen with my flashlight. But is there a way I can quarantine them to be extra sure before I feed them to the scorpions?

thanks

Cellulose mites and grain mites are pretty much in-escapeable. They are every where in/out of you home and surrounding environment.

If the live roaches have clusters of mites stuck to them, this is a bad mite. If the live roaches look clean and just the dead have mites, this is normal and nothing to be concerned about. Some of them are wanding around in my scorps tanks but the scorpions are clean and healthy.
