I have found this gorgeous little spider on the 'net, and I WANT ONE!! Does anyone know if they are available for puchase? It's just about the neatest looking little true spidr I've ever seen!

Edit: O.K. Just did a search on them. Invertepet Bill mentioned having some, did you ever breed them?

Steve Nunn: Can they be exported?

Exported? Not legally.

There are some in Europe but I've not seen them offered in the US at any point that I've been paying attention to the pricelists (~2 1/2 years). Doesn't mean they're not available, but it does mean you'd pay out the wazoo for them relatively speaking.

Thanks Chip! I want a breeding pair then, so I can charge everyone up the wazoo for them!:D They are fascinating little creatures, aren't they?

Dont the females have the capability of delivering a potentially dangerous bite, with a venom similar to funnels?.

They're related so they probably do have very nasty venom, but if you don't get bit...

Yes, but pokies just make you sick, atrax style venom might actually kill you without antivenin.

Terri thinking of getting a new nasty for me to play with?? lol! I'm sure ify ou look around enough you can find them.. Spiders have a way of getting around without breeding.. stowing away and such. Theo nly toime I've ever seen a blackwidow when I was in canada was when my relitaves came back from florida an old male cung onto her bagage all the way but he died shortly after.. :( anyway. I've lost my thought I'll stop typing now..

That is a stunning spider. What part of Austrailia do these reside in? I heading out that way in a month and it would be cool to try and find one for some pictures.
