Missed a molt while home, dang it...

At 6pm a friend was over and while going over some reloading components was telling him about my T's as he was looking them over. I was looking them over also explaining which each is and such.

Friend left after his wife called my cell lookin for him, oops. hahaha

Fast forward to now, 4 hours later.... Just went over and looked over everyone and did some spraying and what do I find, one of my A. versicolors molted since then and now. And I missed seeing it. Crap. I have never witnessed it and would have loved to.

Aw well, my B. smithi has had a blacker than black rump for a week now.

Sorry you missed the molt. i always seem to miss mine, unless it a larger T that takes a couple hours...

I've only had one T molt in my care my 5" B. smithi and she was flipped when I woke up at 10am-ish and she still hadn't molted when I left for work at 2:45! I missed the molt because of work! I shoulda called in sick!

Of course I got 4 tarantulas about a month ago, two juvies and a sling (and an adult) so hopefully I'll be seeing some molts soon!


Congrats on the molt, to bad you missed it though. Hopefully you'll see your smithi molt.

I've seen it but usually get way too lazy to witness the entire process. I like how my pokies molt - they string up a web-bed and molt in the air

I got to watch my male P regalis molt a week or so ago.

It was really nice to see and could get some good pics of him to be sexed.

If you have Ts for any length of time you'll see it. Maybe not the entire molt (who has the patience to watch the entire thing anyway?) but you'll see it.

Yea I didnt watch the whole thing I saw right when he was breaking out watched for a few minutes left came back alittle while later watched some more.

My girlfriend sat and watched the whole thing almost cause we had just had problems with our H. lividum molting and having it stuck to her abdomen.
