Hm. I bought this guy at a snake show a month or two ago as a chalcodes. At the time, the legs were kind of a dusky brown that I thought were on their way to lightening up. The spider is only about 2.5". Well, when it molted recently, it showed off some lovely velvety black legs. So. Not a chalcodes.
The question is... what is it? I think Aphonopelma is probable, anax or hentzi maybe? It's hard to see in the pictures, but the abdomen guard hairs are red.
