Got some new pictures of my pair of nelsons milks today, and thought I'd share a couple. First is the female....I suspect she may be gravid, but only time will tell. Would be nice though. :) She's a lot darker than the male, but they're both pretty neat.

Pretty snakes pategirl.
Are Milk snakes the same as King snakes, cause they look like Calif. Kings or something of that sort?

Yes, they're the Genus Lampropeltis. The Eastern milk snake is also called the red king snake.

Same genus different species. Kings also tend to be more prone to eat other snakes than milks do as well and milks tend to be a bit more squirmy as a general rule. The nelsons are real close in looks to the sinaloans and it has been questioned for a long while as to if they are actually the same species but different varients.

Nice looking pair by the way Joy. The female could be but my personal guess is that she isn't thick enough to be yet. It can be hard to tell with them though as I have had gravid females that I couldn't tell with till they dropped eggs.
