Rouge female M.balfouri that decided to snack on a tank mate. Look at the size of that booty,to bad it's not because she's gravid. IMG_20221022_141824185.jpg

Chilobrachys sp. Fumosus. All three very shy. She's sitting out waiting for food. One molted in the middle of Sept and just a week ago pulled her door down to come out and eat. That's the longest I've had a spider wait to eat.

Chilobrachys Huahini. The one genius of chilobrachy that has no problem coming out to see what is making a disturbance.

I've learned that if you give them a couple of options as to how they want to make home once they do they get more prone to just come to the mouth of their hide rather than bolting out fully like crazy.

Ornithoctonus Aureotibialis getting a rehouse.
Mine make amazing tubes for the entrance of the burrows and really dig and make nice burrows. Very shy if I see toes, which is about all I get I'll throw in a male dubia and they will hunt. Their tubes are so close to the top that feeding by dropping on the lip of the entrance has become not such a cool idea.

Juvenile Avic Avic I bought after walking in a local pet store for small feeder's for some H.mac slings I recently purchased.
Had a heat mat under it's enclosure, zero substrate. She was definitely thirsty. Went straight for water the second I walked it in the tank.

Great collection 😊 some very pretty spiders there.

Glad you rescued the little avic , she looks like she definitely ended up with the right person, I hope she settled well after her long drink 🤞😊

I've had to cut back with feeding smaller meals. Strong feeding response when I first got it. L2 on the right side is small. Bad molt from way before I got it. I cherish my asian ow ,but I'm pleased to keep an Avic Avic it's absolutely beautiful in my eyes.

Mine was only 30 dollars. At a few of the shows close to me,they sell for around the same. I would have paid whatever to get it out of the situation it was in.i wouldn't mind getting into Avics more, but I've got a lot of research to do and have a dozen other projects I need to focus on right now.

Oddly enough this is a small time pet shop there Ts looked housed properly. I just don’t have the money right now $50 is not a lot for a avic . They even offered acrylic tanks with the t for extra $50-75.

Finally seeing some toes after being hid for over a month. Molt is in the bottom of her "I hope it's a her" she was out Friday when I got home from work but has since webbed up and not out hunting.
I plan on getting the molt out tonight if she's out again and offering some food.
Really put on some size after she eats and is back out I'm going to walk her out to get some better pictures. Not literally all the way out, just to the top of her hide.

And an update on the three new additions.
I waited a full 24 hours for them to get settled and fed the two Omothymus pinheads and I have to say the O. Schioedtei is a beast.
The little T.vagen got minced O mealworm and I did watch it go over and eat.

After stepping out to chain smoke a half pack of cigarettes.
This morning I noticed my juvenile H.mac sitting out ready to eat. I got the lid off and it hardly moved right what I want. Right about the time I'm getting ready to drop in a good sized cricket. A complete lost door dash or whatever they were walks by and my dog seen them and barked. To keep this short.

For about fifteen minutes I had an idiot that cannot read numbers at all knocking on my door and a spider on my hand in threat posture with for a three inch spider showing really impressive fangs . It finally calmed down and I was able to move it back in it's enclosure. When time comes for upgrading the enclosure I hope to get some better pictures, but honestly I'm not about to try and walk it out with a brush.

It's an H.mac so none of this is surprising but certainly humbling.
