I need a favor. I'm looking for an introduced predatory katydid (Saginae). The locality information I have is a bit outdated, so if any of you have any pictures of katydids from your state along with localtiy info, I'd love to see them. If you don't want to share with everyone, you can send them to me via pm. I'm planning a trip out there, and I'd like to narrow my search as best as possible.
Thank you.

I'm afraid I don't have a picture, but I do recall seeing some critters that looked like these (may have even caught quite a few) up in the northern lower penisula, in Mancelona, if that helps. There were (in my humble opinion) quite a few of them - seems like everywhere you walked, you scared something up (not always these specific katydids). I recall these because I was collecting grasshoppers and other critters, and remember these being distinctly different but too lazy to look them up. I believe it's typically around late July and August that you see the highest numbers. I've been catching bugs up there for about the last 4 years - so that's all the further back I can attest to. I hope this helps you!

I believe I have seen some up here in the Upper Peninsula over the years. I will look this summer when I go out on hikes.

That would be appreciated. If you find some I'll pay you to ship them to me. (I'm trying to avoid an extra trip this summer but I need some of these for my graduate work).

I will collect them also...I usually find them in the late summer and early fall.
About the same time as the field spiders are adults

They are loud bastards...usually find them at night in the summer on my porch.
