Ok, two weeks ago I gave my male juvi A. Geniculata a large pink mouse as a boost in its nutritional intake. Ever since however It's aggression has spiked. It used to allow me to hold it but now even trying to coax it anywhere with a pencil and it does its own impression of an OBT. Anyone else notice their usually calm T's going beserk after feeding them mamilian prey? I know that with reptiles feeding live prey often makes the animal much more aggressive as to feeding frozen (I used to be big into monitors and keep a few pythons), could there be a similar case going on with what I've just described, i.e. mammals causing more aggression than a diet of insects?

Maybe they consider it more of a challange (because they are larger than crickets) and that could somehow throw their hunting instinct into overdrive and keep them on edge...I dunno. Try switching back to cricks and see what happens

BTW this isn't a 'picture' thread so for future reference post in the correct forum

It may just be coincidence and be in pre-molt now. They tend to become a little grumpy before a molt.

Rodents and Ts are natural enemies, burrows etc.I too noticed raised aggression levels after feeding pinks. My hypothesis(nothing more) is they are worried there are more nearby, and view the pink though eaten as a indication of a future possible threat and are in a heightened state of readiness.I stopped feeding them within 2 months all was back to normal.
