I just broke down and bought a Nikon Coolpix S4, which has a really nice Macro feature. Probably more camera than I need, really, but I'm pleased with the results. Here are three pics I took tonight; in order, they show C. cyanopubescens eating, close-up of Avicularia metallica(I LOVE the eyes), and Homoeomma sp. "Blue"(in pre-moult)on a black background. If they don't show up, I'll post the links.

Wow!! Very nice pics. I bought a new camera the day after Thanksgiving but have't really messed with it. I don't think it can do as good as your though.

It's a Nikon Coolpix S4, 6.0 megapixels. I took the pics on the Macro setting, with autoflash, with "Vivid Color" setting. It will let you get within as close as 1.6 inches from the subject; actually, it will let you closer than that, but there's a chance of the pic being blurred, and besides, few spiders are going to let a camera come closer than that, anyway, without at least running away. It's more complicated to use than my HP Photosmart, but the Macro feature is much better, too.
