I discovered last night that our A. hentzi(Yoshimi) had decided it had enough peace and quiet and dug itself out of its cave.

It burrowed down and barricaded 9-9-09, so that is almost 5 months of seclusion. It has molted and is much bigger! I hope to get pictures later, but I was excited and wanted to share!:D

Now we are waiting on our A. sp.Guatemala to emerge, hopefully molted. It is only a few weeks behind the A. hentzi in terms of alone time.....................

Wooohooo!!! :D
Take pictures of your emerged baby if you can.

Currently I have a burrowed N. chromatus sling and it's driving me crazy!
I know he is due for a molt, but I wish I had a tiny surveillance camera in his burrow so I could see what's going on :D

We could see toes for the last couple of months and knew it had molted, but it took for-ev-er to come back up! Once my hubby is up(he has two eyes) we can do a photo shoot/ video shoot!

Good luck with yours! Luckily, our N. chromatus does not seem to do any heavy burrowing. It does grow like a weed though!:D

Congrats. My girl molted yesterday too, but she didn't barricade herself in. Fun this is a T I thought was so ugly in photos till I saw it in person. I just can't get over how pretty those gray/black tinted legs look.

I love the colors of this species. They may be brown, but many shades of brown.

Ours has burrowed down for both winters that we have had it and ToBeHonest that can definitely get nerve wracking, but if you're patient it emerges beautifully molted and hungry as all get out!:D
