Hi
I have, been photographing each of my new additions, and am having trouble reconciling my Pamphobeteus sp "Costa" against other images on google, as the next one in the collection is Psalmopoeus Irminia its possible i have performed a cardinal sin, and got the two mixed up here is a picture of what i believe to be Pamphobeteus sp "Costa"

Well that's definitely a Pamphobeteus spp., definitely not a Psalmopoeus irminia. They look completely different.

That's definetly not a P irminia in the photo And it may not even be a pamphobeteus sp either there are a few that look similar as slings Like Cyclosternum fasciatum

Cyclosternum fasciatum is now Davus fasciatus, which is usually actually Davus pentaloris in the hobby. They have more of a “tiger striped” opisthosoma than Pamphobeteus sp. do.

Yeah, they are actually two completely valid but different species. The true fasciatus is not in the hobby yet.

Pamphobeteus sp. Costa slings do have the Christmas tree pattern, so if that's what it was labelled I see no reason to think it's something different

Mod Note

Requests for help to identify a tarantula need to be made in the Tarantula Species ID gallery.
