I paired my female with ChrisNCT's male this afternoon and I definitely saw good insertions with both palps.

Typically when I open up the container to feed/water, the male tries to get out, but he took some serious prodding today to get him to venture over to the female's container.

The female lunged at immediately and I thought at first that he was going to wind up as dinner. Just when I thought she had him pinned down and she had her legs wrapped around him he managed to start lifting her up and she began cooperating. ;)

Containers. Male on left, female on right.

Male heading over.

Mating.

Insertion.

She chased after him when he released so I seperated just in case.

She held her position for a few minutes.

I just hope she doesn't molt out of this one! She molted about a month or so ago and lost the sperm from the first time I mated her.

Hey Becca, Has your G rosea lost her third leg before? Oh yeah, good luck on the sac!

Yes - she lost it during her last molt in October of '04.
