Here is a 2 part centipede sexing tutorial, hope everyone finds it useful. I will also add with this a disclaimer: I do not claim to be an expert and do not recommend beginners in the hobby attempt this. I have been handling centipedes and keeping them for some time and what I do is not nessiserily the only way or even the right way but for me it has worked great so I'm just passing on the knowledge.

I've left them submerged for well over an hour and have never had any adverse, or lasting effects. They come too pretty fast too so you don't have much time to sex them and take pics. Larger ones seem to knock out faster for some reason but keep them submerged just as long and give it a full 30mins at least or you WILL regret rushing. some times I give it a full 45mins to an hour to be safe. I have read of people having accidents and them staying submerged for over 15 hours with no ill effects but my longest ever submerged was like a said almost 2 hours.

Rhysida can be real difficult to sex, I suggest having a magnifying glass and a goooood camera for that species. Here is a sexing Vid of Ethmostigmus with close ups of male and female. I refer to the spinning organ as "the pointy thing" on the males for those who are unaware of what a spinning organ is, and it looks like a little pointy thing so it works hahah anyways sexing Rhysida is a lot like Ethmostigmus but harder because of their size. The 2 Ethmostigmus in this vid are pretty small though so it give you an idea of what to expect with Rhysida.
