Adult female Dolichothele diamantinensis, Astrid. (look at the little flexed toes!)
Young adult female Avicularia juruensis M2 (ex. 'Peru Purple'), Yrsa, absolutely crushing a roach. When I got her as a subadult she was extremely thin. It soon became clear she had only one pedipalp and didn't know how to hold on to her food. She would drop prey almost instantly and not know how to pick it up again. She was stressed and very slow to react. I had to baby her for months with tong feeding and cleaning up the half eaten messes she left behind. But she eventually learned how to use her one pedipalp! Then she moulted and got her itty bitty training wheel pedipalp and the rest is history. You go, Yrsa!
Yrsa after graduating from one pedipalp to one and a half.
Subadult female Orphnaecus sp. 'Blue Panay', Eve, aka. pet hole in a jar of dirt.
Juvenile female Grammostola pulchra, Idun, showing off her new jet black style.
Subadult male Citharacanthus cyaneus. Just look at those freshly moulted colours. Wow!
Young adult female Cyriocosmus elegans. I believe this is either Kerstin or Beata (who are both sac mates). Either way, I hardly ever see either of these ladies so it was a treat.
Large sling suspected female Acanthoscurria geniculata. First moult really showing those stripes and red abdomen!
One of my favourite pictures ever of my favourite tarantula ever.
Adult female Hysterocrates gigas, Max. Despite her spooky appearance she's actually one of the sweetest tarantulas I have, and one of the original four that started it all. Love her.
