marbled scorpion?

I was watching animal planet today and saw what they called a marbled scorpion. Just wondering if anyone has heard of these and knows where to get one. Sorry I don't have any more to go on.

lychas spp. are usualy called marbled scorpions

yep, sounds like you were watching buggin with ruud

as Vardoulas mentioned, it is a Lychas species native to Australia. There are other Lychas found in Africa and therefore the scorpion trade that are very similar, such as Lychas obsti fount at Swift's Inverts.

The venom on that species is fairly potent is it not? I happend to have watched that show as well I thought I remember him talking about a friend that had been stung by one.

they are a buthid, so they have the possibility to be quite potent.

yes i'd have to agree with you there, he has uncontained enthusiasm and some of those bugs just make my mouth water :drool:
@ empi: you can get some Lychas sp. at swift's and Krazy 8's those are the only ones i found, i'm sure there are more but i just searched thru the online dealers i know off the top of my head

Yeah you got that right! He cracks me up. I like how he puts everything on his face, deadly or not. I wish I had his job!

Ruud said his freind was stung a couple years ago and his finger is still numb. This scorp demands respect.

Lychas are really awesome. I got 3 of them, i'll post some pictures tomorrow. One just molted, and it looks even cooler now
