Once when my mom (jbrdswifey) worked at a pipe company, I found a TON of praying mantises (about 20 or 30).:) Well....I was little and did not know they bite, so I picked up ALL of them and put them on me, and i walked in the building
to show my mom. Well, the lady at the desk WIGGED OUT!{D It was absolutely HILARIOUS! she fell out of her chair, papers went flying everywhere,
and she was screaming her head off!{D {D {D and all this time not a single mantis fell off, flew, or bit me! And to this day mantises haven't bit me!:D I really love mantises, and I guess the love me too!:D

Haha, when I was real little, my bro and I went out to meet my dad coming home from work, and he had a bug in his hand, (which I cannot recall what it looked like, or what it was) and he let it walk all over his hand and arm, and then I held it, and he offered it to my brother, who was terrified of it. My dad kept telling him, 'it doesn't bite', so eventually he held out his hand, the bug walked down his finger and bit him right in web between his fingers, and freaked him out something awful.

He's grown up with a fear of stinging insects, and Cicada-Killers seem to have an attraction to him.:?

I've heard the story of you beating up a boy for stepping on mantids? That was some pretty funny stuff there.

I used to pick up and play with mantids all the time as a kid. NEVER was pinched or bitten. But now, if I even so much as look at one it attacks...maybe its that "Kid Magic".

I was once forced to talk rather sternly (ok, so I yelled at him) to a man who killed a bumblebee just because it landed next to him. Embarrassed my whole family and it seems to come up at EVERY holiday gathering.....I fully intend to hear all about it again tomorrow at Thanksgiving dinner...
