Blepharopsis Mendica is what I would say, but the pink also means it could be Pseudocreobotra Occellata. Most likely B. Mendica though, as isn't the mantid hobby a little slow in the US?

To be honest I really dont know how popular Mantid keeping is here in the U.S.
I've always had a fondness for them myself though, especially the Orchid Mantis...an Asian species I think??
I just happened to see that pic and was really interested in what species it was and wanted to find out more info on them, maybe even see if I could find a place online to buy one. Thanks for the help, it's surely appreciated.

Pseudocreobotra ocellata, though you might find if for sale as P.wahlbergii, (synonym --redescribed at P.wahlbergii 60 years after P.ocellata but the ranges overlap and they have no trouble crossing). So if you buy P.ocellata or P.wahlbergii you'll get the same animal and you can breed them if you have a male of 'one' and a female of the 'other'. There's a bigger pic on that site and it looks a female one or two molts from maturity.

Hey dessicata, I was given that spelling a while ago too but it's actually spelled desiccata from the word desiccate. Hope that helps.

Hey, yeh I knew this, but dessicata was my username on a forum before i found out, and seeing as my fingers are used to typing it this way, I doubt I'll ever bother to put it to the right spelling.
