Hi Folks

need some help here if possible

my boy miyagi who is a common green mantis has fallen during his last Molt (his wings are now showing)

I woke up on Saturday to find him lying on the substrate I have helped him sit up but he seems very very week

I think maybe he has injured a limb

he try’s to stand up but falls back down

I have been helping him the best I can do but he just lays his head down and almost looks like he has given up he is eating small amounts and drinking his water

Will he recover from this?

I am going away on holiday for three days and I don’t want to leave him as worried he won’t make it but I don’t want him suffering any more.

any help and advice is much appreciated

David

If it hasn’t finished molting or isnt dry you can hang it back upside down to finish. If it’s already finished or dry and it doesn’t have the ability to be ambulatory there is nothing you can do and you should put it out of its misery and put it to sleep in the fridge and cull it. Might not be what you want to hear but those are you options from the information you provided b

I'm sorry, once hardened there's not much you can do.. I've had this happen with a male T.sinensis and it was heartbreaking but I euthanized it.
