The third picture from the last couple, with the flower mantids on the wooden locust, is just awesome!
Is it Pseudocreobroter walberghii?
They are small, but I think they are the best looking mantid species available in the pet trade.
Unfortunately it is a big pain in the a** to feed flies, it makes keeping mantids for me out of question!

Greetings

Yeah they're whalbergii, and one creobroter.
If your that interested go for it, you dont have to feed them flies, crickets are fine for them - just make sure they are well vented!
As for the locust - thats made up from dried twisted banana skins!?! crazy, but it looks awsome!

Maybe when I have some more room one day, right now the last thing I need is more inverts in my room! !
But the locust made from bananas is interesting, I eat a lot of bananas every week and my fruit beetles and roaches love them too, I could start building a modelmantid!
:embarrassed: Don't play with food!

Hi sheldon,

those are some really good photos, i'm glad you enjoyed using the camera! It looks like your mantid collection is getting huge now. Can you post any pics of your shield mantids?

Cheers,
