Hi My Davus Pentaloris had a difficult molt. She was new from a show. The following day after we got her home she rolled over. She got up after 2 hours on her back, cliimbed her cork bark and then got wedged between the bark and the tank side still molting. So I had to intervene. I removed everything major from her enclosure except water and lay her on the substrate on her side and she seemed to make a succesful molt. But I did notice tufts of silk stuck to her bottom.
After further investigation she has a malformed spinnaret. It produces silk but she can’t seem to switch it off, detach, or produce appropriate amounts.
Any thoughts on care? Thanks Kate.

I would wait and see if it eats or not whenever it is ready to feed. It at least can release something from its spinnerets. If something can come out of the spinneret, then it should be able to poop if needed. You should be at least be happy it doesn't have impaction because that can be much worse than a malformed spinneret in some cases. But let's wait and see until then.

Thank you so much for the replies. I was worried after her interrupted molt. Thankfully one of the first things she did post molt once she’d recovered a bit was climb the wall and poop. So really hoping she is Ok and can manage.
