Male vs Female growth rate

For those that think males grow faster. I have a male and female P. regalis from the same sac and the female is a molt ahead of the male and quite a bit bigger.
They were kept exactly the same and fed the same amount.
Has anyone else experienced this with male/female sacmates?
Is this because female pokies are larger than the males when mature?

I think the issue is the rate of maturity, not growth. Females are usually much larger in size than males in most species.

However, the males mature faster than males, i.e. reach a breeding potential faster. That's how I understood it anyway, If i'm wrong feel free to correct me

Well, the growth speed is highly dependent on how well the T eats. There's a lot of variation in tarantula personality in that respect, even if the husbandry is the same. As a general rule males grow and mature faster but it's not a big enough difference that variation in appetite can't overwhelm it.

I'm not sure about the pokie specific questions. Possibly someone with more pokie experience can address those a little more explicitly.

My 2 cents

I think it depends upon each individual species of T. How big are the two T's you are currently comparing...I am asking because isn't it plausible that the Female's growth rate will slow tremendously as she ages and the males will probably stay the same or slow down at a much slower pace. So what I am getting at is the male is currently behind the female right now correct? So provided the two spiders you are comparing aren't full grown adults I am basically suggesting that the male will eventually catch up to the female and surpass her. Also I think that some species of T will have different growth rates than others so this would have to be a study done on all T's to really get an accurate opinion. I think the best way of comparison would be through molt dates and this would have to be done with multiple individuals to really get an accurate reading.
