I've had two Avicularia avicularia specimens mature into males: both deceased within seven months after reaching the maturing state. One of the spiders was 'killed in action' however, hmmm that reminds me, I wonder if the guy I sent him to has an eggsac yet.

I've had a mature male for about 8 months now. He's been living with his girlfriend all this time.
He's starting to slow down now and looks kind of rough.
Too bad, so sad.

The ones I've had have all lived for a year or more after maturing. My oldest one molted out 7/14/02 and is still going strong!
