I have desided to make a "litle" mountain for my G.Rosea.
Have cut it out of StyroFoam.

Here is what it looks like so far

I made a styroFoam cutter, and it works very good

I had to keep Tara in a lite box, feel sorry for her.

The mountain is cut out and i put it in to look how it fits.

After i put on some kind of hardner.

there is a tripple expanding insulating foam called "GREAT STUFF" that works really well for creating things like that from scratch.. after you let it dry you use black 100% siliccone to cover it then press coconut bark or dirt or whatever you want onto it to create the desired texture..

this is a tank I made for my frogs but you can do the same for tarantulas...

I incorporated driftwood into it to make it look even better

The great stuff is about $10-$15 per bottle and it takes about 2-3 bottles for a 35gallon aquarium (the one in the picture)

the sillicone is about $5 and you only need one of them maybe 2 depending on how generous you are with it.

the dirt\bark is cheap...

so your lookin at about $30-$40....

the drift wood is the expensive part if you want to add that to the setup, its about $8-$15 a piece... but it is optional...

if you use the great stuff why couldnt you just skip the part about black silicone? great stuff is insanely sticky to begin with. just curious. i like both!

that is exactly why... because it is insanly stickey... pressing dirt on it will result in getting it on your hands... and when you press it on it and pull away it will pull the stuff with it and make a HUGE mess and will mangle the structure.... its hard to explain exactly but it is not a good idea.. take my word for it.. I still have that stuff on my thumb nail and it has been about a month and a half now

Its a mix of sand, concreet, and some more stuff. You mix with wather and then its looks like concreet.

The producer is called "Hey'di" i dont know what the English name of this product is.
