Hello, I'm in the process of trying to make a 3D model of a velvet worm, but I'm having trouble getting the trunk of the creature looking right. Would anyone on these forums happen to have, or know where I can find, some orthographic views of velvet worms? Particularly the fat, chonky red ones?

By chonky red ones, I assume you mean Mongeperipatus solorzanoi.

iNaturalist is your friend. There aren't many observations of M. solorzanoi, and even fewer of Epiperipatus biolleyi, but the site is free and has nearly 2,000 observations of onychophorans. Some of them are incredibly high-resolution photos. Some are orthographically staged (i.e., top view, bottom view, etc.) on flat, high-contrast surfaces (backgrounds?).

Here's a few candidates:
1. https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/176008069 (top and bottom view, white background)
2. https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/174863333 (top and bottom view, white background)
3. https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/174846546 (top and bottom view, white background)
4. https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/170798621 (multiple angles, white background)
5. https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/167175138 (top and bottom view, white background)
6. https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/167175136 (top and bottom view, white background)
7. https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/154484039 (multiple angles, white and other backgrounds)
8. https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/147071531 (multiple angles, multiple backgrounds)
9. https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/144687326 (red specimen)
10. https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/129400401 (top view, white background)
11. https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/92676669 (top view, white background)
12. https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/74630397 (multiple angles, white background)
13. https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/73312654 (top view, green background)
14. https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/55880262 (red specimen, multiple angles, multiple backgrounds)
15. https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/55880261 (red specimen, multiple angles, multiple backgrounds)
16. https://www.inaturalist.org/observations/53033634 (red specimen, multiple angles, multiple backgrounds)

Researchgate.net (also free to use) has plenty of academic articles with embedded images plus detailed descriptions.

I hope this helps.
