how is the bite from these?

Not a ton is known I don't think. People think it is deadly because they equate these with the Sydney Funnel Web, but it sounds like if you get a wet bite(supposedly not common), it's like the bad end of the old world spectrum, with severe pain and possible nausea and heart palpitations, etc. possibly for days. Probably pretty aweful, but not deadly.

Since the question of this spider's venom potency comes up often, I thought I would share this: A potential life-threatening Asian funnel-web spider bite (Macrothele gigas) in central Taiwan
