the more WC adults export to other countries, the greater risk macrothele gigas would have been putting into in the future
the growth rate is ultra slow, maybe slower than C.crawshayi
the CBs from 2002 are still under 2"
I am the one who posted one of the very first Macrothele gigas pictures online, so i feel responsible for what i've done
plz breed them!!!
additional info: the male is super agressive during the mating process, my friend who used to breed them told me his male bit the female during the mating

hey randolph, think you could give your friend my e-mail? if he/she has lots of CB i would be pretty interested in aquiring a female and hopefully a younger male. perhaps we can chat about it. this is one highly toxic species (genus rather) i am quite interested in.

ahh ok. any chance he kept any records? i think info on them would be pretty beneficial to all. even if chinese, i can work with it.

my eyes are always peeled for these guys, among others. although lately i have not strayed from from concrete.

are teh ones here in taiwan somewhat different from other regions?

well wat kinda records u need?
basically they are wide spreaded in Taiwan, but just not that common
u just need to keep ur eye on holes with funnel webs from the 1300m altitude of Ah-Li mountains to the coral reef shores in Kenting
the region? as far as i know Taiwan is the only region of M.gigas that also inhabitat with human beings, other spots such as those small southern Japanese islands are kinda rural, which is almost imposibble to acquire specimens from
and if u got them, keep them in cooler temps
