very nice pics!... they're funny.... LOL
Thanks! :D In some areas where stupid people spoil them they can be very bold and very aggressive. In fact, where and when I took these pictures, there was an idiot who gave a couple of them bananas (I'm just guessing, since I only saw the monkeys holding and eating bananas, but there are no banana trees in the area so it's probably safe to assume some clown did it).

so wait- you're not suppose to feed them
or give them any attention?

Sorry I'm from NY and we have nothing even remotely close
to this going on, LOL

Yeah, they are wild, so we're not actually allowed to feed them.

Yeah I know, we got kinda screwed with the wild life up here.

I've seen on the discovery Ch where they were invading towns and running them because people were afraid of them and they did what they wanted.

Great photos! I love the expression in the second photo.

Re: feeding wildlife, it's definitely a bad idea, whether you live in an area with macaques or someplace like NY. It acclimates animals to human interaction, which automatically makes them more bold and thus more dangerous; calls them closer to civilization where they may spread diseases or parasites to people and pets; increases the chance of vehicle collisions, attacks on humans, or attacks on wildlife by domesticated animals; interferes with natural selection; and often concentrates them in closer quarters and greater numbers than they would naturally gather, increasing the chance of disease spread among the population.

Many people think that they are helping wildlife by feeding birds, leaving hay out for hungry deer in the winter, or feel it is harmless/cute to see raccoons eating leftover catfood or squirrels eating nuts from their hands. In reality this endangers people, pets, and wildlife. Indeed, seemingly benign little bird feeders have been major factor in the spread of deadly diseases like mycoplasmal conjunctivitis and trichomoniasis among birds. Deer feeding is part of what catalyzed the significant overpopulation of deer in the east, which is decimating native flora and contributing to the spread of tick-borne diseases.

One of the best things you can do if you want to enjoy wildlife close to home in the safest way possible is to create habitat. Habitat loss and fragmentation is, after all, part of what pushes these animals towards civilizations in hunger. For example, instead of putting out a bird feeder, use a section of your yard to plant the native foliage that birds need for food, shelter, and nesting. This ensures that a population does not exceed a naturally regulated carrying capacity, and minimzes human-animal interaction while permitting viewing.
