Hey guys!

I mated my M balfouri pair one time. The insemination seems successful but have to wait till egg sac is dropped obviously.

can anyone tell me how do I take care of the female now? And is there any behaviour observed with which we can confirm if the breeding is success.

Should I try and mate the same pair two or three more times?

Thanks in advance.

If it was successful, it only takes one insertion. Subsequent attempts you run the risk of someone getting eaten. It isn't always the male to be sacrificed...

You aren't doing a communal are you?

Did you see the male make a fresh sperm web before pairing? Was she refusing food before you paired?

Considering these guys breed accidentally in inferior environments (communals), she shouldn't require much. Just peace and quiet and access to water.

You can always try to pair more than once. After a few pairings, keep feeding her and just wait until she drops.

Are they communal?
