I have observed this only with only our large lycos. I do not know if other species engage in similar efforts.

The spider extends it's chelicera then places one leg at a time in the hook of the fang and slowly draws the leg along the hook. As the leg moves a small droplet of moisture forms at the very end of the leg. Once the end of the leg is at the fang, it holds the leg there and the droplet slowly disappears. It then repeats with all the rest of the legs, a droplet of moisture appearing at the end each time.

I assume the spider is cleaning it's leg, yes? What is that droplet of moisture? Why does it form? Where does it come from?
